Culver Consulting: LOSS Team Trainings

The concept of “postvention as prevention” was introduced by Dr. Edwin Schneidman and has been developed by Dr. Frank Campbell, who has worked with suicide survivors since 1986. In Dr. Campbell’s model, a “LOSS Team”, a team of trained survivors who would go to the scenes of suicides to disseminate information about resources and be the installation of hope for the newly bereaved. Interested parties in communities nationwide have received training related to the active postvention model and each week others wanting to start a LOSS team in their communities; Culver Consulting can help you get started and provide ongoing trainings and consultation.

Lezlie D. Culver, MSW is a founding member of LOSS (Local Outreach for Suicide Survivors) Team of Tarrant County, Texas.

Lezlie has presented at LOSS Team National Conferences, the American Association of Suicidology, Department of the Army Fort Worth District Suicide Stand-Down, Tarrant County Sexual Abuse Advisory Council and the Department of Veterans Affairs Suicide Awareness Conference, and others.

Lezlie is trained in ASIST (Applied Suicide Intervention Skills Training) and safeTALK suicide alertness training. She is a member of National Association of Social Workers and American Association of Suicidology.

Being a survivor herself, Lezlie presents and trains survivors, mental health professionals and communities across the country.
